The Hungarian Scout Association in Exteris, based in the U.S., promotes Hungarian cultural values and fosters a strong sense of community among Hungarian youth worldwide. Founded in 1945, the association currently supports approximately 4,000 scouts across 70 troops in five active districts globally, including Australia, Canada, Europe, South America, and the United States.
Through a variety of programs and events, the association works to preserve Hungarian traditions while nurturing the development of young people in a spirit of service, leadership, and cultural pride. Scouts engage in weekend camps, leadership training, and cultural workshops focused on Hungarian history, language, and traditions.
A highlight of the association’s activities is the Kodály Weekend, which connects scouts with their cultural roots through Hungarian folk music, dance, and traditional arts and crafts. By emphasizing community service, the association cultivates well-rounded individuals ready to contribute both to their local communities and the global Hungarian diaspora.
